The Honeymooners Go To Italy

I’m not really sure how to start this post other than by saying “we went to Italy for 2 weeks for our honeymoon and here’s what happened.” But if I went through everything that happened in the last two weeks, it would be a blog that is 18 miles long and I know you probably wouldn’t read the whole thing. I mean, I probably wouldn’t even read it if it was that long. So, this post is to just say: Hi, we’re back! To answer the question you’re all wondering/wanting to ask us, yes, we had a great time. Our time away was amazing and incredibly needed by both of us. We saw and experienced so much, yet relaxed and enjoyed just being together. We are so blessed to have been able to go on a honeymoon in the first place, let alone one as incredible as the one we went on. I mean, it was 2 weeks long and it was spent traveling through Italy, a country rich with culture, art, gelato, and has some phenomenal views. We spent some time in the city, some time in the countryside, some time along the coast…. What else could we ask for?

I’ve decided to write multiple posts about our trip as opposed to the one long post because I have so much to share about each place. So, I’m going to divide it up into sections about the various places we went to. I also have a special post planned with a special guest feature: my husband, Ryan. 😉 So be on the lookout for that as well.

Maybe you’re wondering why Italy? Why of all the places in the world did we decide to go to Italy? Some of you may be answering that yourself, saying “because it’s Italy, duh.” Well, yeah. And because 2 years ago we went to Rome together when Ryan came to visit me as I was studying abroad in Spain and we LOVED it. So we went back! But not back to Rome. There were plenty of other places we could and wanted to see while we were there, so that’s what we did.

Anyway, we’re home. We’re jetlagged. We’re back to reality (despite if we are ready to be or not). We now have groceries in the house and our laundry is almost caught up on. We came home to a new oven/stove (because our other one broke before we left…that sucked) and a new toilet (because the old one didn’t flush). (WOO HOO!!!! #Adulting) We’re happy. We’re in love. We’re married. Life’s good. Now it’s time to get back to the grind of everything we were doing before we left + some new things that are in the works. However, it’s days like today where I think to myself as I drive to my 8-5 office job “wow I really wish I could just be a travel blogger for a living. I could literally spend my life traveling around to new places and taking photos and making videos and writing blog posts about it. I mean, I wish I had another day or two off to knock out these blog posts and get my Italy video put together and get my photos put on Facebook… if this was my job then I could do it while getting paid and that would be awesome, but it’s not. So it’ll have to wait, unfortunately.”

I promise to try to get these done sooner rather than later because it’s going to bother me until I get them done because I’m so excited to share about our time away! But it also might take me a little bit to get them done because I do have other projects that will need my attention. But I hope to have them done within the next week or so! So stay tuned for all sorts of fun details and stories about our Italian honeymoon! They will be coming soon.
